California Ambulance Association Honors Haseib Lamar With “Stars of Life” Award
Sacramento, CA, March 26, 2008—Local EMT honored for his outstanding service to the community. Haseib Lemar, an Operations Supervisor and EMT with Royal Ambulance, a San Leandro based Ambulance Company, received the prestigious Stars of Life Award, along with thirty five other paramedics, EMT's and emergency medical dispatchers from across California at the state Capitol on March 18, 2009. Haseib was recognized for his continuous determination and commitment to improve his community and his outstanding performance as one of Royal Ambulance’s top EMT’s year after year. Their actions, whether from a single life-saving event or a career-long exemplary performance record demonstrates they have stood out among their peers as the best of the best among California’s private ambulance providers.
Haseib Lamar fosters a strong passion for his work, and has always demonstrated exemplary leadership skills in his ability to problem solve quickly, and make his team feel comfortable and reassured during times of crisis. Delivering exceptional customer service to his community and his co-workers is one of Lamar’s top priorities. Lamar’s loyalty and courage is evident in everything he does and his generosity to Royal’s employees, patients and clients has always been his strong suit. “From mentoring newer EMT’s, to volunteering at many of our Senior Living Facility charitable events, Lamar puts his community first and consistently goes above and beyond in everything he does.” said Steve Grau, president and founder of Royal Ambulance.
The Stars of Life celebration, sponsored by the California Ambulance Association aims to bring individual recognition and awareness of the lifesaving care delivered by these EMS professionals twenty-four hours a day. During the event, the Stars were presented with a Star of Life medal, and attended a luncheon with guest speaker Assemblyman Jerry Hill from San Mateo. Afterwards, he met individually with Senator Ellen Corbet and District Assemblywoman Mary Hayashi to share his life-saving stories and deliver important first-hand information regarding the essential service provided by Royal Ambulance, one of California’s top private ambulance providers. Legislators later joined the Stars of Life for a welcome reception in the Capitol Basement Rotunda.
The Stars of Life celebration concluded with an awards banquet at the Sheraton Grand Hotel Sacramento featuring guest speakers Assemblyman Nathan Fletcher from San Diego and Steve Tharratt, M.D. director of California’s Emergency Medical Services Authority, who presented the Stars with legislative certificates from the Senate.
Founded in 1948, the California Ambulance Association represents the interests of emergency and non-emergency medical transportation service providers. The CAA views pre-hospital care not only as an essential public service, but also as a critical component of the total medical care delivery system.
